Is this race a good fit for you?

you are healthy, not afraid of running
or walking off trail then you should be fine even if you are new to
Navigation sports. If it is your first time, it is recommended
you get a team together. You only need one navigator per team to
do well. If you are a
beginner and thinking about completing the course in the 8 hour time
limit alone, that might not be possible but you should still have fun.
If you do not want to go off trail, the event starts with
an 8k trail race and you can stop there if you want.
- Trail runners,
Adventure Racers, Orienteers, Rogainers, MTN Bikers.. Anyone with
endurance, speed and map reading skills will do well.
- One of
the more common questions regarding this type of race is: Do I
have to run? Answer is of course NO. People do of
course but you are NOT Required to win to have fun which is what this
is all about. It is a competition, however, and there will be awards.
Registration is required for this event. There is a late
fee if you register after March 3rd. Absolute
registration deadline will be March 9th. Go to the
bottom of this page for the link to registration.

this event is being held in the Midwest US in the Spring. It is very rare for events to be cancelled because of
bad weather but incredibly that is what happened last year (2015).
Not just once, but twice. 2 record snowfalls in a row hit
this area in the Spring. The Creek is prone to getting very
swollen with water with the snowmelt and rain. There will be
crossing points marked on the map for normal Creek levels but in the
event of River overflow there will be a shuttle over to the east side. The
briefing will let you know where and if you can cross Otter Creek.
the event of Cancellation your money will be fully refunded.
If you cannot make the event because of bad weather and you
cannot get out of your driveway but we still hold the event, we cannot
issue a refund. In most cases the Meet will go on.
On the Registration page, you are required to put a cell phone number
so you can be informed at the last minute of any cancellation. This meet will not be rescheduled if cancelled. We will attempt again in 2017.
