Well, considering the weather, I didn’t think anyone would show up. I guess this Rainman
meet just brings ‘em out to experience the challenges of nature. A soggy Saturday, January
13th, 2007 saw 31 competitors at Deam Lake for a trip through the woods. The Yellow may
have been a little too easy. The Orange course was definitely too difficult. Orange 1 was
inappropriate because the first control on a course should be straightforward and confidence-
inspiring. Orange 7, which was also Red 8, was hung too low and behind a fallen log. I
apologize for these course setting errors. These errors did not stop Alison Ewart and Nancy
Logan from having a good day in the woods. They were the only ones who finished saying
they were “spot on” for each control. Congratulations to them for one of their best finishes ever!! Thanks to those who came out to compete!! We also added two family memberships to the club. Welcome to the Kenneth Kling family and the Scott Morris family. Paul Vice Rainman II Red course – 8.3 km – 16 controls 1. Dan Mattingly 117:20 2. Mike Robinson 163:13 DNF.
