Results, Midway Park, 24 May 2011

On a hot evening, (it was humid and in the mid 80’s, compared to 49 last week) we had 25 people show up for the first course ever out of Midway Park. There was a course along the Levee trail for those in shorts. Those in long pants went through the Hale Wetlands. No trails and muddy conditions created quite a challenge for those on this course in the back woods. Congratulations to all who completed the long pants course.
A special welcome to Silas Whitaker who completed the long pants course. He is from Boy Scout Troop #10 and is working on his Orienteering Badge. Thanks again to North Bullitt County High School JROTC for coming out. We hope you have a good break and hope to see you again in July.
Louis Smith III, Joseph Miller and Bruce Moore led the men, while Diane McKim, Lorie Weires and Alison Ewart led the women on the course for shorts. Dan Mattingly, John Weires and Carson Torpey led the men, while Shelly Pennington and Alison Torpey led the women on the course for long pants. I appreciated Shelly taking care of the training this evening. I used her non-training time run on the course.
The download station shorted out. Paul and company figured out how to download but it took three people for the process. Dan is ordering another download station. We should have it by the next sprint at Creasey Mahan in Oldham County, which is two weeks away.
This will be the last time for the two courses. We will drop back to one course next time and it will be suitable for those in shorts. It has just been too much work putting together two courses. Hope to see you on June 7. Enjoy the week off as we celebrate Memorial Day.
