 IROQUOIS PARK SCORE-0

21 FEBRUARY 09

41 brave souls gathered at Iroquois Park on Saturday to try their skill at a really nice score-0 course set by Rich Mazzoli and Jim Carter.  I say "brave souls" due to the weather conditions (rain/snow showers in the forecast), and the horrible condition of the park due to the one-two punch of the ice and wind storms the previous week.  We had 5 runners clear the course (43 controls) in the allotted time.  Koos Hagg led the men's division in a time of 2:20:00.  Robert Boll was right on his heels, reaching the finish area a little over a minute later.  Shelly Pennington led the ladies with 35 points.  She found 36 controls, but was penalized one point for returning one minute over the time limit.

The entire listing of finishers is below.  Please review, and if there are any errors, please contact the meet directors.

I want to thank everyone that helped and I apologize if I leave anyone out. Thanks to Rich for designing the course, streamering and hanging controls and helping with the start and checking punch cards. Arnie for getting up at 0400 and coming from Bowling Green to hang controls, keep me company while everyone was out and helping at the finish and picking up controls. Alison for hanging controls and helping at the finish. Paul for running registration and recording finish times ( I wish you could have seen the look on his face when the tent went airborne while he was under it). Louis for picking up controls. I was a little surprise that five runners cleared the course due to the condition of the forest. I guess I sometimes forget that we have some great runners in this group. Thanks to everyone that participated and I hope to see you at future events with better weather.
