Welcome    

     Orienteering Louisville (OLOU) is a club chartered by the US Orienteering Federation. OLOU holds several
meets throughout the year in both Kentucky and Indiana, including the Lewis and Clark Cup. Orienteering is a sport
that involves navigating a set course using a specialized topographical map and a compass. It can be enjoyed by
people of all ages as a competitive cross-country race or as a recreational walk in the woods. Beginners and
newcomers are always welcome at OLOU meets. We have courses and training available to assist individuals and

Working with Orienteering USA and Kentucky State Parks, OLOU has been BUSY!  

Check out the new permanent courses in place at Taylorsville Lake State Park and Rough River Dam State park.  

Copies of the course maps are available at the park offices for a nominal fee.  

Our plan is to have two permanent courses (a White and a Yellow) at Barren River State Park mid 2013. 

CRITICAL INFO FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS:  Effective immediately(4/12/2013), due to a change in Orienteering USA insurance policy, all participants must fill out and sign a new "Release and Wavier of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement" form.  You will not be allowed to participate in the OLOU event without a signed form.  If you are under the age of 18, the form must be signed by your parent or legal guardian.  Instructors of underage participants (i.e. JROTC cadets, scouts, etc.) should take special note of this new requirement.  Form can be found here. Copies of the release form will be available at registration.  Sorry for this additional administrative burden, but we have no say in the matter.
